Seems that we’re always working, with little time to enjoy the finer things in life. Art, whether it be in a painting or a song, appeals to and reminds us that there is more to the world than what we are dealt on a daily basis. There are special gifts that exist for those who are worthy and willing to listen.
Fortunately, we had a chance to get away a few weeks ago to finally see Beck. The grammy-award winning musician has been on our radar since 1993, when a chance to see him in D.C. early in his career slipped through our fingers. At the time, there were more important things to attend to…. namely college.
Joined by great company, and bumping into other friends once we arrived in Charlottesville, Va., the show was one for the ages. The original tunes, along with the many short covers, were well worth the 20 year wait.
You know, returning to work wasn’t so bad after this festive excursion. Allowing us a chance to forget all of our troubles and responsibilities, the feel-good was strong and positive energy contagious.
Who knows where our next outlet and inspiration lies?
