Beautiful to the eye, beastly to the touch. The WV Timber Rattlesnake is an apex predator, one that we coexist with on a daily basis. We came across this beautiful specimen today at Sherwood Lake while we blew off some steam. The weather was gorgeous, and the scenery was superb. This rare sight of this serpentine was surprising and certainly docile. Born and raised in WV, we’ve had the pleasure of seeing roughly a dozen or so of these creatures along the way. Few and far between, a snake such as this deserves to live.
