Finally got out and did a personal smallie float a couple weeks ago, capitalizing on an early smallmouth bass bite on the fly. Its only gotten better as the water temps increase and stabilize a bit after these raucous, wet, and cold last few months. The big girls are finally coming out and playing as the pre-spawn bite fires up to epic proportions.
These few smallies, even the one missing a significant amount of its tail, are all beauts, but would appear tiny in comparison to some of the river donkeys that lurk in our backyard. Interested in becoming a member of the 5lb fly? Float trips are booking now, and highly suggested.
